ABOUT THE POSITION

At DistriQ, buildings are working environments used daily by fast-growing quantum companies. The smooth operation of the facilities directly influences the teams' ability to work, focus, and produce.

As the Facility Manager of Espace Quantique 1, you will be responsible for the operations, maintenance, and improvement of the building, with constant attention paid to the concrete needs of our resident companies.

Your role consists of ensuring a reliable, safe, and functional environment by anticipating issues, coordinating interventions, and maintaining a close relationship with residents.

YOUR ROLE

You will take charge of the overall operation of the Espace Quantique 1 building, including its electromechanical systems and specialized equipment.

You will also contribute to maintaining infrastructure performance, safety, and reliability standards, in accordance with the operational procedures of the department responsible for facility operations and maintenance.

You will act as the go-to field reference for everything related to the building: maintenance, equipment monitoring, work coordination, emergency response, and continuous improvement of the facilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensure preventive, corrective, and on-demand operation and maintenance of the building and its systems (HVAC, mechanical, electricity, plumbing)

  • Document interventions, work plans, and follow-ups (including the use or implementation of a CMMS)

  • Respond to emergency calls according to established guidelines

  • Coordinate maintenance, repair, and replacement work with subcontractors and suppliers

  • Monitor the quality of interventions and compliance with applicable standards

  • Maintain clean, safe, and functional work and equipment spaces

  • Respond to requests and concerns from resident companies in a professional and structured manner

  • Recommend adjustments or improvements aimed at facility reliability and efficiency

  • Contribute to a continuous improvement approach to operations, safety, and service

  • Participate in procurement management related to building maintenance (quotes, suppliers, inventory)

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • On-site work at Espace Quantique 1, located at 1950 rue Roy in Sherbrooke

  • Regular interaction with resident companies, DistriQ's internal team, and technical partners

REQUISITE PROFILE

  • Relevant training: building systems engineering technology, facility operations, engineering technology, trade certification, or a related field

  • At least four years of relevant experience in building maintenance and operations

  • Experience with building automation systems (BMS) and CMMS tools (asset)

  • Good judgment, autonomy, and sense of responsibility

  • Ability to prioritize and resolve a variety of operational situations

  • Comfortable interacting with users, suppliers, and colleagues

  • Interest in continuous learning and evolving industry practices

WHAT WE OFFER

  • Competitive salary based on experience

  • Benefits (employer contribution to RRSP, group insurance)

  • Full-time: 35 hours/week

  • Collaborative and stimulating environment

  • Opportunities for professional growth and development

WHAT THIS ROLE OFFERS

  • Caring for a building used daily by technology companies driving the quantum industry forward

  • Having a direct impact on the quality of the residents' work environment
